Horse Training
Located in Littlefeild AZ, in between Las Vegas NV and St. George UT, Gee Lil Performance Horses is owned by Alex Poynor and husband Dalton Poynor. Alex started the company as purely an avenue for seeking her passion. She has been riding horses since she could walk and has loved every minute of it! Alex is the founder and creator of Gee Lil Performance Horses LLC and is also the main trainer and instructor for the company. Dalton is the muscles behind the operation. He helps with everything from acting as a sounding board for creative ideas to showing up for the manual labor.
At Gee Lil Performance Horses we offer a variety of services that range from private lessons to 30-90-day training for your horse. We pride ourselves in our unique but customizable training style. As a western discipline training facility we offer training from the ground up, where you can learn everything from the basics of owning a horse to event specific techniques. Alex takes a very hands-on approach to her training while also allowing each individual rider to customize their own style while acquiring all the correct skills.
RIDDING LESSONS
Offering ridding lessons from beginner to advanced.
At Gee Lil Performance Horses we offer riding lessons from beginner to advanced, whether you have never been around horses before or are an advanced competitor.
For our beginner students we take a very “hands on” approach. Our Students learn everything from the ground up catching, grooming, tacking and un-tacking. We believe in putting a good foundation on all of our horses AND RIDERS.
Private lessons: we offer one-on-one private lessons for all students, this is available for students ridding our horses and students with their own horses.
Group Lessons: We offer group lessons to all students as well. We believe in pairing students of all levels together. This allows advanced students to teach the beginner students which sharpens both student’s skills. The advanced rider has to learn how to do a skill well enough to teach and the beginner can offer insight the advanced rider never thought off. After all, you can never learn to much!

Training Services Offered
At Gee Lil Performance Horses
in our training program we offer a range of services that are completely customizable to the owner and horse. We understand that different horses and different riders learn at their own pace. We understand that while some riders seek to eliminate bad behavior, others are looking to add a new skill. Our goal for our training horses is to not only teach the horse, but teach each horse-rider duo the proper skills to communicate. Our services include, but are not limited to, the following;
*30-90 Day training programs
*Ground work- Here we teach the proper horsemanship tools to set each horse and rider up with a solid foundation that will pave the way for any direction they choose to go.
*Round Pen Work- Teaching basic communicating skills to both the horse and the rider.
*Event Specific Training – i.e Barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, ranch sorting, team penning,
*Horse Consultations – This is a service we offer that helps relieve some of the stress of buying a new horse. We will help with everything from looking, contacting, arranging meet-up and trials. We will give our opinions and recommendations, all the way to making sure you ask the right questions, to getting the right paperwork so you can feel confidant when adding a new companion to your barn!
*Horse Sales- While we help you find the right horse to add to your barn, we will also help make sure you find the right person to take your loved one to the next chapter. Whether you need someone to help add value to a horse before you sell, or just simply need help finding the right home.
